Very familiar portion of Scripture. John chapter fourteen, beginning at first aim. John fourteen and eight. Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it suffice it thus. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me has seen the Father. And how sayest thou then, show us the Father? Believeest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you, I speak not of myself, but the Father that dwelleth in me. He doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me, or else believe me for the very work's sake. Verily, verily I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do, shall he do also, and greater works than thee shall he do, because I go unto my Father. Whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you forever. Even the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive, because it seeeth him not, neither knoweth him, but ye know him, for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless. I will come to you. Yet a little while in the world seeeth me no more, but ye see me. Because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I am in my father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments and keep of them, he that is that loveth me, and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father. And I will love him and will manifest myself to him. Judas saith unto him, Not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest myself unto us and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man loved me, he will keep my words and my... Father will love him, and we will come unto him and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings. And the word which he hear is not mine, but the fathers which sent me. These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth. Give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice because I said I go unto the Father, for my Father is greater than I. Now I have told you, before it come to pass, that when it is come to pass, ye might believe. hereafter I will not talk much with you. For the prince of this world cometh and hath nothing in me, but that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. Now in the last few weeks we've been speaking on this remarkable chapter, and the four dialogues that we find in this chapter. First of all, the dialogue between Christ and Peter, and then Christ and Thomas, and this morning Christ and Philip, and also Christ and Jude. First of all, you remember the dialogue between Christ and Peter was relative to the place, and there are two places in mind, the first place Calvary, the next place the Father's House or the many mansions. The cross must come before the crown. and the pain of Golgotha must come before paradise. Therefore Peter takes up the place. Christ says, I am going to a place. You can't follow me now. And Peter didn't. And the place he went to was Calvary, where he shed his blood. And then the Lord leads on to the other place, the Father's house, with its many mansions. Then we came to the other dialogue between Thomas and the Lord Jesus. and this topic was the pathway to that place. Thomas asked the question, how are we to know the way? Christ says, I am the way. The truth and the life, no man cometh unto the Father but by me. And so we went into that, I think, for a couple of Sundays, how that the Lord Jesus is the way, the only way. He's all the way to the palace or the many mansions. There are no other ways. There is no other way. And then today we come to Philip, and today Philip is taken up with the person of the Father. Peter and the place, Thomas and the pathway, Philip and the person of the Father. And sixteen times over in these few verses, the word Father is used. seven other times by Jude toward the end of the chapter, so twenty-three times in these verses reference is made to the Father, the Father, the Father, and the relationship of the Son to the Father, and the relationship of the children to the Father. And so it's a very interesting chapter. Now, in getting into this third one, Peter and, or rather, Philip and the Lord, let's notice a few things about Philip. We've mentioned a few things about Peter and also some characteristics of Thomas, doubting Thomas, but what about Philip? You know, it's very interesting to note how John seems to rescue these two characters from almost oblivion. Matthew, Mark, and Luke make little or no reference to Thomas or to Philip other than to say Christ called them, and it stops there. John is the only one who gives us any further information about Thomas, and that on three occasions. And John also is the one who gives us all the information we have about Philip, and that's on three occasions. Here's the disciple whom Jesus loved, and he doesn't leave out anyone. This is characteristic of love. Love wants to give credit to everybody. Therefore, John, the disciple whom Jesus loved, He seems to bring out things about Thomas, the others don't even mention. And he does the same about Philip. Philip is left out of the records of Matthew, Mark, and Luke as to any of his activities, but not John. John says, I'm going to tell you a little about Philip. Philip was evidently a Bethesda of Galilee, and as far as we know about Philip, he was quite a timid, and you might say a retiring character. He never seems to have sought Christ. That's one thing noticeable about him. You find others. Andrew and John, they find Jesus. It tells you that in chapter one of John. They found Jesus, but you don't read that about Philip. You do read Jesus found Philip, showing that Philip evidently was a retiring character. He wasn't addressing. And so here you find the Lord Jesus looking up, Philip. while the others on their own initiative, they went after the Lord. The Lord went after Philip. And that's very characteristic of this character. Three times you'll find Philip linked with Nathaniel. It seems they must have been workers together. They both were from Galilee. And here you find Philip and Nathaniel often linked up together. For instance, when Jesus find of Philip, he saith unto him, Follow me. That was quite simple. Jesus find a Philip and he says, follow me, just two words. That was a very simple exhortation or command, if you will, because when a king commands something or says something, it takes on the nature of a command, not just a request. He says, follow me and Philip did. Philip followed the Lord, and that's just how simple a person can be saved. You'll notice Philip's call to faith and his call to follow came at the same time and he did both that very minute. He obeyed the call and he followed. I wish everybody who comes to know Christ would do the same thing. Many a person is called to come to Christ for salvation and they come as lost sinners and receive salvation. But they don't follow on. They don't follow the Lord the way they should. in the path of obedience. Follow him into baptism. Follow him to the Lord's table. Follow him in serving him. No, they seem to be satisfied to stop with knowing I'm saved. I'm going to heaven. That's a tragedy. The Lord is missing much, and so is that individual. The Lord said to Thomas, when he called them, now follow me, or rather to Philip. And Philip did exactly that. And as far as we can see, the rest of Philip's life was following his Lord until he died a martyr for the Christ. He laid down his life for his Lord right at the end. How wonderful then, not only to hear the call to faith in Jesus Christ, but also the call to follow him. Take up your cross and follow him. The great feature about Philip is, as soon as he found or Christ found him, he finds Nathaniel. You read that in chapter one. He finds Nathaniel. And he says to Nathaniel, we have found him of whom Moses and the law and the prophet did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the king of Israel. Nathaniel says, can any good thing come out of Nazareth? And here is Philip. And he says, come and see. Come and see. And that's a good advice. That's very good advice. If someone comes to you and says, are you a Christian? Are you born again? Are you going to heaven? Yes, praise God, I am. Well, how do you know you are? Come and see. I'll show you. And that's exactly what Philip did. Come and see. I'll introduce you to him. I'll acquaint you with Jesus Christ. And here is Philip, this retiring backward character, ready... Christ found him, and he followed the Lord. When Nathaniel and he got into a discussion, this is the first time you find the two of them together. And Philip said, I've found, we have found, the Christ. And he came from Nazareth. Nathaniel says, can any good come on in Nazareth? Well, all I can ask you to do is come and see for yourself. You'll find out like I did. And friend, that's all we can say to you who are not Christians this morning. You say, can you really be saved and know it? And are you satisfied when you are saved? Come and save. Meet Christ yourself and then you'll speak for yourself. You'll find out like we have found out that Jesus saved and he satisfied. Come and see. That's the point. Not a case of coming and joining. Coming and joining. It's coming and seeing. You may join a church and yet not see the Savior. You may join the church and not have contact with the Son of God. Millions are members of the church. They know nothing of sins forgiven and following Him. And so he says, Come and see. Now in the next instance we find Philip mentioned in John six and five. Christ saith to Philip, When shall we buy bread that these that his five thousand may eat? Now here's Christ testing Philip's faith. How is Philip going to react? He failed. He failed. He should have said, Lord, that's no problem. You ask how we're going to get bread to feed five thousand people? While you're the Son of God, that's no problem at all, Lord, you can feed them. You know how you're going to feed them. You've rained down manna from heaven and fed two and a half million of people when they went through the wilderness. Certainly you can take care of five thousand. Philip should have said that, but he didn't. He failed. What did he start to do? He began to calculate as to how much bread it would take that each one would have a portion and how much it would cost. You know, that's so true of human nature. The Lord asked us a question, and instead of saying, Lord, you know the answer, We sit down and we try to figure things out. We try to calculate and so on. That's not faith. That's unbelief. Lord, why do you ask me? You have the answer. I don't. I could miscalculate. My figures are not too true. But, Lord, you know the answer. You do it. You know what you're going to do. And it tells you he did. Jesus knew beforehand what he was going to do. He was just texting Philip and Philip Faye. Then you have another incident in John twelve, twenty-one. Here are some Greeks, Gentiles of course, and they came to Philip and they said we would see Jesus. My, that's lovely. I wish people would come to me every day. I don't care how many would come. Say, Mr. Wilson, we would see Jesus. We'd like to be saved. We'd like to know our sins were given. I'd be happy to take my Bible and show them. The Bible says, Be ready to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is within you. I have known people to get angry and lose their temper because someone asked them if they were saved. And their reaction was, None of your business. That's a private affair. It is. My Bible says, Be ready to give an answer to every man that asks of you. a reason of the hope that is within you. I've been in Albany ten years, and I've yet to have the first person walk up to me and say, Mr. Wilson, are you saved? If you are, how do you get saved? I suppose because I'm a preacher, they take it for granted. Don't you take it for granted. There are a lot of preachers not saved. There are a lot of preachers not born again. What they've learned, they've learned the theological seminary. They didn't learn it from the Lord Jesus Christ personally. And don't be afraid to walk up to a preacher and ask him if he's saved. He may get offended, but I wish someone would ask me. I'd be delighted to tell him. Any born-again Christian, everybody who's saved is delighted when someone comes up. How did you get saved? My, they've got a story to tell. Do you know why people get mad when they're asked such a question? They don't have anything to say. They don't have a testimony to give. They're embarrassed. Some will end up saying, well, remember the church. That doesn't mean a favor. Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ is your personal Savior? That's the point. And so these Greeks come to Philip and they say, we would see Jesus. My, how lovely that is. Now here's Philip paving again. Why didn't Philip, on this occasion, write there and then, tell them how they could see him, what he would say when they did meet him. But here he's showing his timidity and the need for moral support, and he goes and he finds Andrew. He says, Andrew, some Greeks over here want to see Jesus. What do we do about him? and of course the two of them got their heads together and both Philip and Andrew both go and tell Jesus Philip wouldn't go alone he wanted a little moral support but nevertheless they went the two of them and told Jesus that these Greeks were seeking him and of course the outcome was the Greeks were blessed but here is Philip and he's becoming bolder it seems all along and so we've come to this character Philip And back to our chapter. Philip here is inquiring about the Father. He says, Show us the Father, and it suffices us. That's very interesting. The person of the Father. Now I want you to notice some things in these verses. First of all, here is Philip's inquiry. Verse eight. Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it suffices us. Here is a hunger. Here is a thirst. Here's a desire. Here's a longing. I wonder if there's that longing, that desire, that hunger, that thirst in your heart this morning. I would say, Jesus, show us the Father, and I'll be satisfied. That's what Philip said. Show us the Father, and it suffice with us. That'll be it. How wonderful when there are hungry hearts thirsty hearts, longing hearts, seeking souls, people who want to know something about the Father. That was true in this occasion. Now the Lord Jesus gives us here something about prayer. In verse fourteen, prayer to the Father. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. Now you know the Bible explains itself. you get light on this verse from another verse. And it's wrong to isolate one text. And when this text is as it is, if ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it, it doesn't mean that any sinner, any ungodly character or a backslidden Christian, can come into the presence of God and say, Lord, I want a million dollars. I want this, I want that, I want the other thing. You say, if we ask him in your name, you'll do it. All right, do it. Everything in the Bible is qualified. And you'll find a qualifying text of this. If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. And he tells us in the other chapter, if you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will. And it shall be done. simply meaning this, that if we abide in Jesus Christ, we obey his word. As his children, we must be saved, first of all. Then if we abide in him, we can ask what we will. And he'll do it. And I'll qualify that again, if it's according to his will. He never does anything contrary to his will or contrary to his word. therefore the need of praying in the Spirit. For if you're praying in the Spirit, you'll only ask for those things that are according to His will. They are according to the Word of God. So there are qualifying conditions. If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. I was telling you a little incident a few weeks ago about a little girlie, a relative of Mrs. Cutler, who used to be here at the chapel, died at ninety-four. And on this trip, when I took her down to Tampa, Florida, to see her niece. I heard a couple of amusing things. She was telling, that is, Mr. Cutler's niece about the little girl who was about seven years of age, the granddaughter, and some of the things she overheard her say in her little prayer. One was she's kind of been a bad girl the day before, so grandmother reminded her that she had to pray. to be a better girl today. So she went in, got on her knees, and she said, O Lord, she said, make me a good girl today. Here, you forgot yesterday. Did the Lord forget her name? No, I think she forgot. She had to do some cooperating. Yes, she says, Lord, you forgot yesterday. That's why she was a bad girl. Ah, no. There needs to be cooperation. It's not one thing for us to get up in the morning and ask for things. And then the Lord expects us to cooperate during the day in obeying Him, pleasing Him. And then He'll do those things. I believe that's the condition laid down. If you shall ask anything in my name, And as you link it up with that other text, if you abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. And so there is prayer to the Father by us, and then you have prayer to the Father by the Son in verse sixteen, and I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another comforter that he may abide with you forever. Here is his prayer to the Father. The revelation of the Father has given us in these verses. seven to eleven. You have the recognition of the Father in verse nine. He says, Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father. And how saith thou then show us the Father? How can a Father reveal him, or son reveal the Father? Christ says he that has seen me has seen the Father. How can a son reveal the Father in various ways? A son can reveal the Father by his image, his face, the very build of his body. Oftentimes you look at a boy and you say he just looks like his father. He looks like a master, his features on his face. He looks like a master's build. Even the way he walks, he reveals his father. He does. And the same thing as to a disposition. A son can reveal his father as to his disposition, his likes and his dislikes. You say he dislike his father in what he does. He likes what his father used to like, and he dislikes what his father used to dislike. He's revealing the characteristics of the father. The same thing as to his word. Why, he speaks just like his father. He says some of the same things as his father. And so the son can reveal the father also by his works. A boy doing the same things his father used to do. Because he saw his father do them. And the best kind of flattery is imitation. And the son is revealing the father by his very act. The Lord Jesus said to Philip, Philip, have you been so long time with me, or have I been so long time with you, and yet you say, Show me the Father. If you've seen me, you've seen the Father. For I have revealed the Father. As to his form, I've revealed him. I've revealed him, for I'm the express image of his person. That's what he said. As to his disposition, I have the same disposition as the Father. As to my Father's words, my words are identical with my Father's words. What the Father says, I say, even as He gave me the commandment, so I speak. My Father's works and my works are the same. When I do the works of the Father, they reveal the Father. And so a Son reveals the Father in these various ways, and the Lord Jesus reveals the Father. Do you want to know what the Father is like? Look at Jesus Christ. He says, He that has seen me has seen the Father as to his form, as to his features, as to his disposition, as to his words, as to his works. And he says, another thing, I honor my Father. Sad to say, every son doesn't do that. He says, I honor my Father. I've never disobeyed a woman. everything my father asked me to do, I did it. Never have I questioned my father. I honor my father. The Bible says, Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the earth, which the Lord thy God giveth thee, an exhortation to children. So here the Lord Jesus is revealing the Father. Now we come to Jude. trying to get through this chapter for meetings with Brother Gibbs. Here is Jude, and he's taking up the subject of the people of God. First of all, we notice Peter and the plates, Thomas and the pathway, Philip and the person and the father. Now you have the people of God and their pathway in this world after they are saved. The people of God, their pathway, their privilege. What is their privilege? To love him. Verse twenty-three tells you that. What we're to do. Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man loved me, he will keep my words, and my father will love him, and we will come unto him and make God abode with him. Isn't that nice? What a privilege. We love him. Remember, it's not a duty to love him, and yet it is that. But I would make it this way. It's a privilege. Is it a duty when mother asked you to do something for her, to wash the dishes? Well, you say, it's my duty, I better do it. You would do it a whole lot easier if you did it out of love. Why do you do these things for your husband? Well, it's my duty. I made this pledge when we were married quite a cold argument. be a whole lot better if you say, I do it because I love my husband. That's legalistic to do a thing because you've got to do it, although it's so different when you do a thing because you love the person you're doing it for. And that's true of the people of God. They have the privilege of loving him. And then their portion, his presence in that same verse, verse twenty three, how wonderful. We will come unto him and make out of board with him. You know, the Lord's presence is something more than just a cold blueprint. His presence means light. It means light. It means warmth. That's what His presence means. Your heart is like a little home, warmed with His love, illuminated with the light of His countenance. Is that so? He says, We will come unto Him and make our abode with Him. How is it possible for God the Father and God the Son and God the Holy Spirit to dwell in a human heart and the human heart not know it? It's absolutely impossible. If He's there, you know it. There is the glow, the warmth, the light of the presence of God. That's what the Bible teaches. and then the power you have the pathway the privilege the portion his presence and the power that of the holy spirit in verse twenty six who makes these things real to us but the comforter which is the holy ghost and the father will send in my name he shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance whatsoever i said unto you you know people say i just can't remember one of the signs of old age I'm so forgetful. I used to remember things, but I just can't anymore. Would you like the remedy? I read an article just the other day in the home. I think it was last Sunday where I took dinner. An article, they're coming out with pills. They're going to develop a pill that you can take that will bring things back to your mind. It will alert your memory and reach into the past and bring things back to your mind. Well, I can give you a pill this morning and didn't come out of the laboratory either. It's right here. Be filled with the Spirit. It says, He shall bring all things to your remembrance. If you store up your heart with the Word of God and you abide in fellowship with God, He'll pick things out of the book and bring them back to your memory. He shall bring these things to your memory and the cure. What a bad memory. is in fellowship being in fellowship with the Lord especially when it comes to spiritual things now if you heard a dirty story and you forgot it the spirit won't bring that back the devil will you better forget it but he will bring back things that are profitable use spiritually and to the glory of God and so he says here's the part and then your peace this is also a portion of the people of God. There are peace in verse twenty-seven. Peace I leave with you. My peace I give unto you. How wonderful is this peace? This peace. You know the cushion of the sea, that is the vegetable and the remains of animal life and sunken ships. Give evidence of not being disturbed for centuries. There's a deep, deep, awesome calm down in the bed of the ocean. undisturbed by the storms on the surface. Divers tell us that. That's the peace of God in the human heart. My peace give unto you. It's deep. It's holy. It's divine. It's of God. It's so deep that the storms on the surface of our life need not disturb it or irritate it. That's the peace. Jesus. My peace is given unto you. And then the prospect, verse twenty eight, I go and I come. My what a prospect is ours, the coming again of the Lord Jesus Christ. There you have the path where the people of God, their privilege, their portion, their power, their peace, and their prospect. Isn't this wonderful? And Jude takes this all up in this dialogue. But then the Lord says, I'm going to go away. I'm leaving you. One time we preached a sermon on that, but I'm not going into it today. Our loved one in leaving, departing, said, I want you to have this. And he picks out certain articles, certain treasures, and gives them to different members of the family. The Lord Jesus is going home now. And he said, I'm leaving you something. One thing we emphasized in speaking of that subject was he left us his business. He left us the tools to carry on his business. Now he said, I'm going home to heaven. I want you disciples to carry on my business. He's going home. You know, the soldiers got his clothes. John got his mother. When Jesus at the cross said, John, behold, your mother. Joseph got his body. The Father got his spirit. When he said, into thy hand, I commend my spirit. But what has he left you and me? What have we got? He gave us his name. He said, I want you to take it. I want you to gather to it this name and this name alone. Gather to it. I was in a home yesterday speaking to some people and they said, Mr. Wilson, why is the Albany Gospel Chapel non-denomination? Well, my answer was this. You know, I'm very glad when the Lord Jesus comes to the air, he's not going to say, All ye Baptists, come up to be with me. There's going to be an awful lot of Christians left behind. If that's all, he's going to say, Yeah, the Baptists, or the Methodists, or the Presbyterians. If he's coming for one denomination, there are going to be an awful lot of Christians left behind. And there are going to be a lot of sinners go up, too. for all Christians are not Baptists, and all Baptists are not Christians. But when Jesus Christ comes to the air, he's going to call for all born-again Christians, and everyone will go up, who's saved by the grace of God. If they're in the Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, or wherever they are, if they're born again, they're going up, and no real Christian would be left behind. Because he says they've taken my name. And that's the name to meet him. where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. He's left us his name, and I want to take it. He's left us his work, and I want to do it. He's left us his word, I want to read it, and I want to obey it. He's left us his peace, I want to experience it. He's left us his joy, I want to enjoy it. He's left us His love. I want to manifest it. The love of God is manifested abroad in your heart by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us. He's left us His glory. The glory of a blessed fellowship. He wants us to display it. What a fellowship Christians have, a blessed fellowship, a fellowship of life. Let me say this, every born-again person in this world. has a fellowship of life, and it's the life of Christ. And the fellowship of love, that same love, is the portion of every born-again Christian. The fellowship of light, the fellowship of labor, the works one, the businesses one, operated under His name. Yes. We have a fellowship of life, a fellowship of love, of fellowship of life, of fellowship of labor, of fellowship of language. They all speak the same thing. There's unity, the fellowship of liberty, and the fellowship of longing. We're looking for, waiting for, longing for the coming again of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is that glorious fellowship that the Lord Jesus left behind when he went to heaven. I wonder if you know something of this fellowship this morning. Are you ready to be saved? Christ is the way. He's the truth. He's the light. No man cometh unto the Father but by him. It's not by anything you do. It's not by any ordinance you keep. It's not by any church you join. Jesus Christ is the way. Jesus I am the way. the truth and the light no man cometh unto the Father but by me and in concluding these sermons on John fourteen we recall again what Jesus Christ said to Thomas Thomas because you have seen me you have believed blessed are they who have not seen me yet have believed are you willing to believe in Jesus Christ without sight or feeling Thomas, doubting Thomas. I've got to see it, and I've got to feel it, even though it'll cost my Lord added pain by thrusting my finger into those nail prints in his hands and plunging my fist into his side where the spear put in. It may cause him pain, but I've got to have feeling. I've got to have sight. You're not going to get it. Jesus Christ's in heaven. You won't see him by those eyes. He's in glory. You won't feel him by these hands. But, friend, you can obtain him by faith without sight or feeling. Blessed are they which have not seen me yet, have believed. Are you ready to say this morning, Lord Jesus, I want thee more than anything else in all the world, for I need you, and you do. I do accept thee right now as my personal Savior. And then add this, Lord Jesus, I want to thank you for saving my soul. Faith is an affectionate confidence in God. That's what faith is. Faith is an affectionate confidence in God. Faith is the echo of the word of God in the heart. God's word producing an echo in your heart. I believe it. I believe it. Blessed, you will be blessed. You'll be blessed with what? You'll be blessed with sins forgiven. You'll be blessed with peace with God. You'll be blessed with everlasting life. Blessed are they which have not seen me yet have believed. Oh, you'll be blessed this morning with these things if you want to be saved. the knowledge of salvation the knowledge of all your sins being put away the knowledge of absolute present possession of everlasting life he'll bless you with these things if you will believe will you believe will you receive him now the Lord Jesus surely there's one in this meeting this morning who would like to know I'm going to heaven I don't want to go out that door the way I came in I came in here on the way to hell I'd like to go out that door on the way to heaven you may you may if you'll open your heart right now and receive Jesus Christ as your personal sake there is no other way take that way Take him, take him now. Let us pray. Our Heavenly Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we come to be. We ask thy blessing upon thy word to those who have listened to it. We thank thee for such a Savior to preach and present. We trust that someone in this audience this morning has received him. We trust thy Spirit, Lord, has been at work in human hearts, convicting of sin and converting to Christ. So we leave thy word and those who have listened to it in our hands for thy blessing in our Savior's precious name. Amen.
