Romans 13 instructs believers to submit to the government, as its authority is established by God. However, when governmental demands conflict with divine commands, the example of Peter and the apostles in Acts 5:29, who stated, "We must obey God rather than men," serves as the ultimate principle. This principle calls for discerning loyalty, prioritizing God's will when human laws and divine laws diverge.

What should my attitude be toward the government? Must I be loyal to my country, right or wrong? Must I defend all of her actions? I wonder, what does the Bible say? Does it give us some guidelines? In Romans chapter thirteen we read, Obey the government, for God is the one who put it there. In special cases where the government asks us to do something contrary to God's guidelines in the Bible, We're reminded of the words of the Apostle Peter after being arrested for preaching the gospel. He said, We must obey God rather than men. This has been a moment to remember from the Bible.
