Good morning, time again for moments of melody, five minutes designed to help you begin your day. It is said that when Abraham Lincoln was a baby, his mother said that she would rather have him learn to read the Bible than to have him own a farm. While a boy was still very young, In forlorn poverty that mother died, and was buried without religious service at her grave. Afterwards came a stepmother, a most understanding woman. She also desired that Abraham learn to read, and to read the Bible. And so these two women in the back woods and the cabin with the dirt floor had ambitions for the boy and gave him guidance. Who knows how much they contributed to his success? Happy as the boy whose mother and father know the Bible. Dads and mothers, as you listen to this broadcast, I'd like to ask you a question. Do you read the Bible to your family? Do you know enough about the Bible to answer your children's questions about God, about the future, about sin? To know him, to love him. To love him, to serve him. I have met the Savior. Life is made complete. Now I live and serve him till the day we meet. At his invitation I gave him my heart. He gave me salvation. Like you, dear Paul. Know Him, please, is to love Him. To love Him is to serve Him. I will be to please Him. His will to fulfill. I trust him as my Savior, till my love I see no sin and keep me while stable. As he, the Lord Jesus, passed along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Simon's brother Andrew casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. Jesus said to them, Come and follow me. I will make you into fishers of men. And they dropped their nets immediately and followed him. Then he went a little further and saw James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. These two were in their boat, repairing the nets. All at once he called them. And they, leaving their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men, turned aside after him. So they made their way to Capernaum. Here as soon as the Sabbath came, he went into the synagogue and taught. They were amazed by his teaching, for he sat there teaching them like one who had authority, not like the scribes. Do you think they were ever sorry that they followed the Lord Jesus? No, I'm sure they weren't. They learned to know Him. They learned to believe in Him. And their whole lives were changed as they walked with the Lord Jesus. This may be your experience, even today, to learn to know Him and to trust Him. He's the friend. that sticketh closer than a brother.
