Even in nineteen seventeen when a dollar was worth more than it is now, That mansion cost over a million dollars. It was not only well built and beautiful, it was fitted out with every kind of convenience. At the cost of two hundred thousand dollars, Henry Ford built his own power plant and installed several devices to guarantee power and avoid breakdowns. Electrical outlets brought this power to all parts of the mansion for every possible need. But in nineteen forty-seven, when it was needed most, for the first time that power supply was cut off. In an unusual flood the furnace room was flooded, and the electricity failed just when Henry Ford lay dying in his mansion. And so he left this world in a cold house lighted by candles. I thought to myself, man is so weak. There are some things that money can't buy in this life. and it can't buy anything in eternity. If we could see beyond today as God can see, Before the clouds should go away, the shadows free. For present priests we would not pray, each song For many joys are waiting yet, For you and me.
