Good morning, time again for moments of melody. Five minutes designed to help you begin your day. Here's a little poem from the scrapbook. It's titled, The Feller My Mother Thinks I Am. While walking down a crowded city street the other day, I heard a little urchin to a comrade turn and say, Say, Jimmy, do you know I'd be happy as a clam? If I only was the feller that my mother thinks I am. She thinks I am an angel and knows that her little lad would never mix with nothing that was ugly, mean or bad. Sometimes I sit alone and think how nice it would be if a feller was the feller that his mother thinks he is. My friends, be yours a life of toil or undiluted joy. We all can learn a lesson from this small, unlettered boy. Whether rich or whether poor, we'd be happier by far if we only were the fellers that our mothers think we are. If I have wounded any soul today, If I have caused one foot to go astray, If I have walked in my own willful way, dear Lord. If I have uttered idle words for fame, If I have turned aside from want or pain, Lest I append some other through the strain, Dear Lord, forgive. Forgive the sins I have confessed to thee. Forgive the secret sins I do not see. Oh, God, love me, and my keeper be. Dear Lord, I... The Gospel According to Dr. Luke At the time when he said this, one of the Pharisees invited the Lord Jesus to his house for the midday meal, and so he went in and sat down at the table. The Pharisee, meanwhile, was inwardly surmising why he had not watched before his meal. And the Lord said to him, You Pharisees are content to cleanse the outward part of the cup and dish, while all within is running with avarice and wickedness. Fools did not he who made the outward part make the inward two? Nay, you should give alms out of the store you have, and at once all that is yours becomes clean. The Lord Jesus puts an emphasis on the inside, the inward part of our person. If we're to be what our mothers want us to be, if we're to be what the Lord Jesus wants us to be, there must be a change within. The Lord Jesus put it this way, ye must be born again.
