Beloved friends, we greet you in the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ. And we welcome you to our continued study from the book of Revelation chapter one and verse seven. We are speaking and using perhaps an unusual subject concerning the approaching invasion of this world from the skies above. That approaching worldwide invasion... that it's soon to take place, and will, when the Lord Jesus Christ comes back from heaven to the earth with the armies of heaven attending him. We repeat the condensed message of the book of the Revelation from chapter one and verse seven, our text, Behold, ye cometh with clouds, and every eye shall see him, even they that pierced him, and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, amen. Unequivocally, the beloved apostle John by the Holy Spirit has declared that Christ will return back to the earth. In the opening words of our text, behold, he cometh. He has emphasized the fundamental fact. He is coming again. and supported by the teaching of the Scripture, we have the certainty of his return given to us. But then will you consider with me the next two words in our text, the manner of his coming. Behold, he cometh with clouds. Not merely the atmospheric clouds does this refer to, but in majesty, in great glory, He will be attended by clouds of saints and angels. Who will be with him when he descends back toward the earth? Let me quote a statement which is made by the Lord Jesus Christ when he stood before Caiaphas the high priest on trial in the city of Jerusalem. In Matthew chapter twenty-six and verse sixty-three, the high priest sitting in his judicial and his official capacity placed the Savior upon oath when he questioned him, art thou the Christ the Son of God? This was the Mosaic command that any or any work of adjuration when any person was placed upon oath by the high priest. It was compulsory to answer the question. and in obedience to the Mosaic command, the Savior answered that he was. But he also went on to say these words and listened to them very carefully. Nevertheless, I say unto you, hereafter, sometime in the future, shall ye see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of God and coming in clouds of heaven? Now, beloved, let's raise the question, what are the clouds of heaven of which our Lord Jesus speaks as he spoke long ago to the high priest? May I go further and ask you to listen to other words concerning this same event spoken by the Savior again? In Matthew chapter five and twenty-five, rather, in verse thirty-one, when the Son of Man shall come in his glory, And note, and all the holy angels with him? Take it in, my friend. I know not the myriads of holy angels in their numberless count, but all the holy angels, when he comes to the earth, and its second appearing, they're coming with him. Clouds of holy angels, numberless in multitude, descend with our blessed Lord. These also are the clouds of heaven. And please, use your imagination. This is based upon the Word of God. You will never overdo it. Myriads of angels. And what do you know about angels? How little do you know? How little I know, other than the revelation of them in the Word of God. But myriads of angels will accompany our Savior. On the night of his earthly birth long ago, the heavenly hosts filled the skies of Bethlehem harolding the birth of Christ, the newborn king. But now, take in the statement of our text in Matthew twenty-five, when he comes in glory, all, not some of them, but all the holy angels, are coming with him. What a paralyzing, amazing sight that will be visible to all the unbelieving world. But that is not all. Let me go with you to the epistle of Jude, where we have recorded in verse fourteen the words of the Apostle saying, Behold, take notice, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints. My beloved friend, not only angels, but saints of the ages will be coming with him. Remember the words that are written in Colossians chapter three and verse four? where Paul the Apostle has written, To the saints of God, when Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear within, in glory. My beloved, let me repeat it. Take the vision in. It is to be an actual sight. Holy angels and holy saints will be coming within. It will be the time when the words of Second Thessalonians one and verse ten will be fulfilled. For we read when Christ shall come to be glorified in his saints and to be admired in all them that believe. Ah, but beloved, let me take another scripture. Let me go near to the end of the book of the Revelation with you in chapter nineteen. If you will read chapter nineteen... From verse eleven to the end of the chapter, the details of this great approaching army of heaven, coming from heaven to the earth, the details are given there. But let me quote only part of it. In verse eleven, John the Apostle by the Spirit is written, And I saw heaven open. And behold, a white horse. And he that sat upon him was called faithful and true. and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. Here we have the conqueror coming from heaven, the mighty leader and the captain of the host who follow. And note, as we read in verse fourteen, and the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. My beloved, leading the armies of heaven, will be none other than the one of whom we are speaking in our text of Revelation one seven. Behold, he cometh the Christ of God, the Messiah of Israel, coming back again to the earth. My beloved, let me ask you the question. What does the world think about him? Yea, may I raise the question, is the world at all thinking about it? Are you, my friend? He's coming again. And these holy angels and holy saints will make up the armies of heaven. Yes, with clouds he is coming, clouds of holy angels, clouds of glorified saints. He's not coming back alone. When he first came to the earth at his birth, he was alone. A tiny infant babe, cradled in the manger, born in the cattle shed, only Joseph and Mary with him, and a few humble shepherds came to do him worship in homage. After they heard the message of the angel, fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. Yes, beloved, that first coming to the earth, unobtrusively, unknown, unwelcome by the world, and to the world, the political, the cultured, and the religious world. There was no listening for his coming. The Savior of sinners came to save us when he first came to the earth. I am not come to judge the world, but that the world through him might be saved, said the Lord Jesus in John three and verse eighteen seventeen. And thank God for that. But at his second coming, he's coming in glory and power, and he will be witnessed by all the world below. How different? How vivid is the contrast between his first advent when he first came to the earth and his second coming in power and glory? Friend, think about it. The event is coming and it will certainly, and it is perhaps much, much nearer than perhaps we know. But are you ready for it? This is no fiction, my friend. This is no human hoax. This is the Word of the Living God. My friend, if you believe that the Bible is true when it tells us the Son of God first came to the earth, born in the manger of Bethlehem, lived in Galilee and Israel, and went to the cross of Calvary to die for our sins, if you believe that, you've got to believe He's coming again. The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is mentioned in the Word of God, and particularly the New Testament I refer to. Christ is coming again. Now listen, friend. Take a good look up. Look toward the skies, my friend. Visualize in your mind the fact, the truth. This stupendous event of Christ coming down from heaven, alive, Personally, but not alone. Behold, he cometh with clouds. The armies of heaven. Now let me raise a question. For this implies a question that we can and we should raise. Will you be one of the saints coming with him? Or will you, unfortunately, be one of the many upon the earth who have rejected him as saviour? and yet we'll see him coming down as your judge. Oh, my beloved, he did not come to judge the world when he first came. He did not come to judge, but he came to save. And when we call him Savior, we call him by his name. My friend, you have the opportunity right now by faith of looking to Christ as your Savior, and receiving him as your Savior. Or you will someday meet and see him as your judge. Oh, listen to the Savior's advice. Be ye also ready, for in such an hour as you think not, the Son of Man cometh, Matthew twenty-four, forty-four. Let me indeed encourage you, my own saved friend. Get ready now. this very moment. Do not procrastinate. Take Christ today. Father, bless thy word and save sin as we pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
