Beloved radio friends, in the precious and the worthy name of our blessed Savior, we greet you again. We hope and pray that you're not tired of these greetings, for we come to you representing the throne of heaven above and the God of glory who is upon that throne. And seated next to that blessed God is your Savior and my Savior, the risen glorified Lord, Jesus Christ. We bring before you from that throne and for the glory of that throne and the throne sitters the word of God again. Our reading continues in the book of Exodus where we are seeking to find lessons that will profitably, for our blessing, bring before us the true character of the world in which we live, as well as the true story of redemption and the deliverance that God through Christ has brought to mankind to take them out of this evil world and bring them into eternal glory. We read in chapter three of the book of Exodus, commencing today at verse sixteen, as God continues in his commission to Moses and says, Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say unto them, The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham of Isaac and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying I've surely visited you and seen that which is done to you in Egypt and I have said I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt onto the land of the Canaanites the Hittites the Amorites the Perizzites the Hiveites and the Jebusites unto a land flowing with milk and honey and they shall hearken to thy voice and thou shall come thou and the elders of Israel unto the king of Egypt And ye shall say unto him, The Lord God of the Hebrews hath met with us. Now let us go. We beseech thee. Three days journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God. And I am sure that the King of Egypt will not let you go. No, not by your mighty hand. And I will stretch out my hand and smite Egypt. with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereon. And after that he will let you go. And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. And it shall come to pass that when ye go ye shall not go empty. But every woman shall borrow of her neighbor, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver and jewels of gold and raiment. and ye shall put them upon your sons and upon your daughters, and ye shall spoil the Egyptians. May God bless the reading of his precious word. May the Holy Spirit give us an insight, spiritually and clearly, into this portion, to recognize the determined purpose of God, to bring up his people out of Egypt and into the land of their possessions, Promise to Abraham, promise to Jacob, promise to Isaac and Jacob too, and all the people of God. And thus Moses is commissioned, first of all declaring to his people that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob has appeared. And this is God's message to the people in verse sixteen. Tell them, I have surely visited you, and I have seen that which is done to you in Egypt. Now here follows not only a divine declaration of what he had seen, but now follows what is a divine promise. I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of Canaan and unto the land that flows with milk and honey. Again we repeat, this was the determined purpose and will of God. I will bring you up. I will bring you unto. My beloved, I wonder if you believe that God has promised. He that believeth upon the Son hath everlasting life. But he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth upon him. My beloved, may I say, just as God made his promise to Israel longer go through the words given by Moses, today May I repeat the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, a greater than a Moses, when he said in John fourteen six, I am the way, the truth and the light. No man cometh unto the Father but by me. And the only way for you to reach heaven above and into the eternal blessing of glory is to have Christ as your deliverer and your Savior. I am the way. And God said to Moses, The people are going to hearken to your voice. And he says, I want you to gather them and get the elders of Israel. And I want you to go to the king of Egypt. And I want you to say unto him, Our God has met with us. The Lord God of the Hebrews has met with us. And we wish to go a three days' journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to him. Now I want you to know something. Very carefully we're going to see it. Here is the first reference to the contest that will soon begin, when the King of Egypt would be demanded to let the people go. And you come to that King of Egypt, you say unto him, Our God has met with us. Our God demands that we leave. Our God demands that we go three days journey into the wilderness. Our God demands that we sacrifice unto him there. Now there's one thing that God reveals, would to God that Moses and his companions later on had realized it more fully. God knew that when the contest began between Pharaoh and Moses, it was going to be a contest between the devil and the Lord too. And it was not going to be a quick victory. For God declares in the nineteen verse, I'm sure that the King of Egypt will not let you go. No, not even by your mighty hand. There's one sure thing, God knew just what kind of a fellow Pharaoh was better than the Israelites. And may I state, please remember the typology that we've been trying to present in this lesson. Egypt is the type of the world. Pharaoh is the type of the God of this Satan, the prince of this world, none other than the devil's Satan himself. And I want to tell you, when God demands the devil to let the soul go, he doesn't let go very quickly. He fights to the last ditch. He doesn't want to see your soul saved. All the devil desires to do with the people of this world is to bring them down to worship Him. And if they so do, they follow Him into the eternal flames of an eternal hell. I say it very frankly. We're living in a world where the power of Satan is strong. in holding men and women and refusing to let them go from the bondage of their sins and the tyranny of his power. But says God, I'm going to prove to Pharaoh in such a manner who I am and what I am. He will let you go. Now look verse twenty. I will stretch out my hand and smite Egypt with all my wonders, which I will do in the midst thereof. after that he will let you go now God knew ahead of time that he would take ten terrible plagues of one form of destruction after another before the victory would be won and before Pharaoh would give up the battle and let the people of Israel go and he said God says I'm going to show in my wonders I'm going to prove to him that I'm a greater God than he is. I'm going to prove to him that I'm greater than all the gods of Egypt. My beloved friend, let me please ask you a question. Do you think it's possible for any man to lick God, to defeat God? May I say, my radio friend, God's going to have the last word with the whole human race. I don't care who the man is. who the powers are, how great they may be in their powers of evil, of tyranny and oppression, and what they may do in wickedness and vileness. God's going to have the last word, and he's going to show his mighty wonders to the ungodly. May I also insert, and we shall see it in great detail later, May I insert this fact, the world is heading up very rapidly to judgment. Not just our nation alone, but all nations. And the terrible judgments of God in mighty wonders are going to be poured out in mighty divine power. I commend to you the reading of the book of the Revelation. And if you'll read from chapter six going down to the end of chapter nineteen, you'll read of the visitation of God's wrath and power and might and wonders as he pours out his displeasure and his visitation of judgment upon the children of men. I'm glad that I'm saved. And God has delivered me out of this present evil world and from its coming judgment. And God says Pharaoh's not going to let you go quickly. But he says, I'm going to show him whose boss. And when I've shown him my wonders, he will let you go. And then he says, when you leave, you're going to find favor with all the Egyptians. They'll be so glad they get rid of you. They'll pour their possessions upon you. And you'll not go out of Egypt empty. God was going to see that all the bondage and the slavery that they had endured was going to be even materially paid for. You're going out rich. You're going to have silver. You're going to have jewels. You're going to have gold. You're going to have clothing. And you'll have enough clothing to latch you through the wilderness journey. And if you remember, please, if you know your Bible, their clothes never got old for forty years. Their shoes never wore out for forty years when they went through the wilderness. What to God we could have that today, which should save a lot of money. And we wouldn't have much inflation. But, oh, God says, when you go out, you're going out rich. Now, beloved, when the believer in the Lord Jesus goes out of this world to the glory of heaven above, we're going out rich. but not in the possession of worldly goods. But thank God we're going to enter a glorious inheritance in heaven above. Why am I glad I'm saved? And this world is the best place to leave, and it's the grand thing to know, if you do know it, that you're ready to go. My radio friend, please let me ask you, are you ready to leave the world? For I'm going to tell you someday there's going to be a mighty exodus. Myriads of people are going to leave. to go to glory at the rapture of our Lord Jesus, the rapture of the saints. Father, we pray, bless thy truth and sanctify you to every heart for thy glory in Jesus' name, amen.
