Beloved radio, friends, in the precious name of the Lord Jesus, our Savior, we heartily greet you and welcome you to the broadcast today. We continue our meditation on that Messianic Psalm, Psalm number two. And shall we read that Psalm together, beginning at verse one to the end? Why do the heathen or the nations rage? Can the people imagine a vain or an impossible thing? The kings of the earth have set themselves and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh. The Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath and vex them in his sword his pleasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree. The Lord has said unto me, Thou art my son. This day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen or the nations for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron. Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. Be wise now, therefore, O ye kings. Be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the sun lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when it's wrapped its kindle but a little. Blessed are happier all they that put their trust in him. May God once again bless the reading and the hearing of his precious and holy words. We continue our meditation, once again declaring that the psalm can be divided in a four-fold manner. Verses one through three, we hear the voice of the nations. Verses four through six, to which we come today, we listen to the voice of God the Father. Verses seven through nine, we have there the voice of God the Blessed Son. And last of all, the closing three verses, we shall hear the voice of God, the Holy Spirit. We have already touched upon the voice of the nations, verses one through three, in worldwide agitation, with a worldwide imagination, and shall be forming a worldwide amalgamation, and leading a worldwide insurrection against God. and against His beloved Son, the Messiah of Israel. Now we come to verses four, five, and six. We listen to the voice of God the Father, and we note particularly the opening words regarding the one who speaks. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh. Note the words, I repeat them again. He that sitteth in the heavens, note who it is that's speaking. Note whose voice it is that now occurs, the one that is seated in the heavens above, his divine dominion over all the earth, his divine dominion over all the universe. I'm sure that many of you may well remember that have read your Bibles, the great lesson that God taught Nebuchadnezzar the great king of Babylon. Though he was a king over a worldwide dominion, God had to bring him down to eat grass like the cattle in the field for the space of seven years, until he acknowledged there was a God in heaven who ruled over the kingdoms of man. My beloved, may I say, as we have noted in the opening verses the voice of the nations, their imagination, their amalgamation and their insurrection against Jehovah, against the God of heaven, against his Christ. Yet we find in verse four that blessed one with divine and dominion over all the universe. What will he do? We read of his divine derision. He that sit up in the heavens shall laugh, and the Lord shall have them in derision. Oh, my beloved, how terrible to think. that here is puny man boasting upon the earth who he is, what he is, and even shaking his fist against the God of heaven. Oh, my beloved, there are many men like that. Oh, there are some that indeed in their atheistic, agnostic, God-defying spirit defied the God of heaven. Many years ago I read in my early days as youth, as a youth, of an infidel denying publicly in an audience of many hundreds the existence of God. Very dramatically he took his watch out, and if he held his watch in his hand he made the daring statement, If there be a God, I defy him to strike me dead within five minutes. And he held his watch very dramatically before the audience and waited for the minutes to go by. Suddenly a voice of a dear woman in the audience burst out with the statement, Man, do you think you can get God angry in five minutes? It's a good thing he couldn't. But sometimes God takes them at their word. He's able to do it. But oh, as you look at the vain imagination at the end of the age and the insurrection of the human race, God will laugh at them. He will have them in His divine derision. My beloved, what folly, colossal folly, to think man can fight against God? My beloved, let me ask you, can man make an earthquake? Can man send a tornado? Can man cause a flood? Can man produce the natural phenomenon of disaster and catastrophes that come from the hand of God? My beloved, surely it will be a laugh of derision that God has against such impostors who would defy him the great, the eternal God. who's seated upon his eternal throne. My beloved, puny man, may I say, he often seems more arrogant and defiant than even the devil. God forgive us. May God, by his spirit and victim, save many who were such. But then I want you to know this. God's displeasure, the divine displeasure of God, then shall he speak unto them in his wrath and he will vex them in his sore displeasure. You see, what is he going to do? Well, I can only commend to you, there's many scriptures, but let me just commend to you reading the book of the Revelation. May I commend to you reading from chapter six and going all the way down through chapter nineteen. There you will find the coming display of his wrath, the pouring out of his displeasure, in those judgments. which are called the seal judgments, the trumpet judgments, and the vile judgments. They all consist of his displeasure, and of his sore displeasure that in his wrath he will vex the children of man. My beloved, I say very frankly, I would not want to be upon the earth in the day of God's wrath. Read at the end of chapter six of the book of the Revelation, and find that even then men will seek to hide themselves from the wrath of him that sits upon the throne and from the wrath of the land, fleeing to the dens and the rocks and the holes of the earth, away from his great displeasure. Yes, my beloved, our God in the heaven has divine and eternal dominion, and our God in that coming day will have divine derision. upon those who insurect against him. And he will manifest his divine displeasure. But I want you to know something. Verse six. Yet, no matter what you do, no matter what you say, no matter how great you define me, I have said, I have made it a set of fact, I will put my king upon my holy hill of Zion. The one whom I have ordained to be the king of all the earth. I'll put him there. I'll put him there. I wonder if many of you may remember your Bibles enough. To recall the sixth chapter of the Gospel of John. Where after the great feeding of the five thousand beside women and children. The people wanted to make the Lord Jesus a king. To live. And to have him. Feeding them at such little cost. and providing for them so bountifully that they were satisfied with the food. He refused them. Why, even the devil offered to make him a king. He showed him all the dominions of the world. At one moment, all these will I give thee if you'll only fall down and worship me. But there's only one person that God, the Holy Son of God, will ever take the kingdom from. That is his father. And our sixth verse declares, The Father's intention, the determined will of the Father, I will set my King upon my holy hill of Zion. My beloved, let me say very frankly, God the Father intends and God the Father will fulfill the blessed fact that his Son will be the King over all the earth. Read the last chapter of Zechariah. Notice that it says of that blessed Savior, he shall be king over all the earth. Read the title in chapter nineteen of the Gospel, the book of the Revelation, when he comes down from heaven, where the armies of the heavens attending in saints and angels, across his vestures shall be written, King of kings, Lord of lords. My beloved, let me say this. God intends and God will fulfill his intentions. He will make his son king over all the earth. Well, did the poet write the old hymn, Jesus shall reign where ere the sun doth his successive journeys run. His kingdom stretch from shore to shore till moon shall wax and wane no more. Ah, beloved, listen to the voice of the nations. But as you do so, also listen to the voice of God the Father. who will have his way. May God bless the truth that we presented for the blessing of his people, as well as for the conviction of any sinner who needs to come to Christ before it's too late. Our beloved and blessed Father, in the precious name of our Savior, by the Holy Spirit, write the truth you have given to us from thy precious word upon every heart, upon every conscience, Upon every mind, for the glory of our Lord and the blessing of all, in Jesus' name I am.
